September 25th, 2020, marks the 5-year anniversary of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Agenda’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets demonstrate the scale and ambition of the universal Agenda, which centers around the following five overall themes:
We are determined to end poverty and hunger, in all their forms and dimensions, and to ensure that all human beings can fulfil their potential in dignity and equality and in a healthy environment.
We are determined to protect the planet from degradation, including through sustainable consumption and production, sustainably managing its natural resources and taking urgent action on climate change, so that it can support the needs of the present and future generations.
We are determined to ensure that all human beings can enjoy prosperous and fulfilling lives and that economic, social and technological progress occurs in harmony with nature.
We are determined to foster peaceful, just and inclusive societies which are free from fear and violence. There can be no sustainable development without peace and no peace without sustainable development.
We are determined to mobilize the means required to implement this Agenda through a revitalised Global Partnership for Sustainable Development, based on a spirit of strengthened global solidarity, focussed in particular on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable and with the participation of all countries, all stakeholders and all people.
The interlinkages and integrated nature of the Sustainable Development Goals are of crucial importance in ensuring the realization of the Agenda.
The overview report shows the business context that indicates how the SDGs are assessed to impact – positively or negatively – on relevant business contexts, i.e., processes, systems, products, etc. All these objects can now refer to relevant SDGs, making them very visible and accessible.
The Management System nature of the implementation means that QualiWare supports a full Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) loop for continuous improvements.
The SDG Improvements Report/Dashboard gives a one-page overview of planned changes, their priorities, statuses, who is responsible, etc.
The Improvements Report is central to making internal audits for the sustainability strategy.
The Performance Status Report shows the objectives and KPIs for the UN SDG and the corresponding Company Performance Status for each Goal.
The report automatically links to the relevant page on the UN SDG website. Since the UN has an open API, advanced customers can make more advanced integrations and data retrievals into the QualiWare platform via its integration services.
